The 60-day comment period on draft regulations related to Canada’s anti-spam legislation ended on September 7, 2011.

Governor in Council draft regulations

The proposed Electronic Commerce Protection Regulations for the anti-spam legislation were posted on July 9th, 2011 for a 60 day consultation period that ended on September 7th, 2011. The Government of Canada is in the process of analyzing all submissions and developing options for consideration. Next steps will be determined in the near future. A copy of these submissions is available this page.

The final regulations will come into force at the same time as the legislation, subject to Governor in Council approval.

Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) draft regulations
